WINDOWS

Windows have a bigger effect on your home than you may realize. The kinds of windows you have, how well they were installed, and the quality of the window glass all contribute to the temperature regulation in your home, the ability to keep out drafts and particles from outside, your view, and the curb appeal of your home. That means you don’t want just any brand of windows nor do you want just anyone installing them. You want a brand that is high quality and long-lasting, and you want a window installation company with experience and skill to do the job correctly.

We supply and skillfully install REHAU windows, a top quality brand that we know our clients will love. REHAU uses the latest technology and innovative thinking to create superior products that are energy efficient and highly customizable. Every REHAU product is thoughtfully designed to provide optimal solutions for any space.

The experts at Seattle Exterior Services are also experienced in installing all varieties of windows, including windows from Pella, Ply Gem, and Milgard.

Common Window Types

Casement windows crank open a full 90-degrees, either to the left or to the right, with side hinges. When they’re closed, the seal is weathertight, making them great for insulation. With casement windows, it’s easy to be in control of how much air flows into your home, which means excellent ventilation. These windows are easy to clean, easy to use, and they open wide enough to function as another exit from your home during an emergency. Due to their single-sash design, casement windows provide uninterrupted views, bringing the beauty of the outdoors in.

These are classic windows that can open either up or down along a vertical track, providing circular ventilation within your home.  They’re extremely popular and affordable, and they look great on many different home styles. Additionally, because both pieces of glass can be accessed from within the home or building, double-hung windows are easy to clean without having to step outside.

Awning windows open outward from the bottom with a hinge on top so that they slope down and out from the hinge. A plus to awning windows is you can still get fresh air while it’s raining because the protective canopy they create when open keeps the inclement weather out–important for an area like Seattle!

Picture windows offer an unobstructed view of your property. They don’t open, so they don’t contribute to airflow in your home, but they do let in plenty of natural light, making them a valuable fixture within your living space. Sometimes, they can be flanked by casement windows on either side to allow for airflow.

These windows add architectural interest to your home and bring in plenty of sunlight. They are made up of several windows placed next to each other in a curved (in bow windows) or angled (in bay windows) arrangement. These windows are often functional and definitely elevate the curb appeal of your home.

DOORS

A door is one of the most basic components of your home, so you want to make sure it is a quality product and installed skillfully. A poor quality or incorrectly installed door for your home not only won’t look right, it won’t seem to fit right in your space, either. In addition to curb appeal, doors are important for security, weather resistance, and energy efficiency. That’s why you want to be certain you have the right door for your home installed by experts.

At Seattle Exterior Services, our experienced professionals install uPVC doors that are stronger and more durable than other common door materials, like wood. UPVC doors are also resistant to mold, mildew, and damaging air pollutants, making them low maintenance and long lasting.

There are two main kinds of doors you need to think about for your home–exterior and interior. Exterior doors include mainly your front door, your back door, and any other door you use to exit or enter your home. Interior doors refer to any door within your home, including doors between rooms and closet doors. Among these different kinds of doors, there are many different types and styles to choose from.

Common Exterior and Interior Doors

The single-sash hinged door is the most common type of door, both exterior and interior, and comes in a few different varieties. Exterior hinged doors may be more decorative or ornate. Interior hinged doors are often panel doors, otherwise known as slab doors, with a variety of square or rectangular panels arranged in different ways to create different styles.

French doors are double-sash hinged doors and can be found both inside your home and as exterior doors, often leading to a patio or porch. French doors are not only functional but are also a design element and add beauty and grace to the look of your home.

Sliding doors are great space savers for homes as they don’t require any space to swing open. As exterior doors, they let in a lot of natural light, which makes them aesthetically pleasing. They also create easy access between the outside and inside.

Bifold doors add functional beauty to your home. They are made of multiple glass panels that move in a stacking pattern like an accordion in order to maximize the amount of natural light and airflow into your space. When open, bifold doors enlarge your space by creating an uninterrupted flow between areas. When closed, they add a warm and elegant look that enhances the design of your home/building.
